Mitch Elliott
Mitch Elliott is a Sydney-based musician who uses a Lyra-8 and Ableton Live for sonic world-building. His releases include Kurosawa Daydream (2021), expanding the imagined universe of Akira Kurosawa's film Dreams (1990); The Opposite of Perdition (2025), documenting his first live Lyra-8 performances in Indonesia; and two EPs, A Spring-Flood Overflows the Still Horizon (2025) and Low Water / Last Act (2026), developed with Berlin-based mix engineer Boris Wilsdorf. Elliott’s forthcoming 2026 album is currently untitled but will be released in October, followed by a tour through Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam, Taiwan, China and Japan.
"[The Opposite of Perdition is] a grounding release that holds so many details in its distortion and noise... this is an album that will give you something different depending on how you listen to it. If you stay with the drones and really tune your ears in you'll hear a spectrum of melodies that rise up from the gnarl"

Touring the Asian DIY underground since late 2024, he has performed alongside Dis Fig, Yuko Araki, and Ryosuke Kiyasu, and collaborated with Simon Barker, Hinano Fujisaki, Jasper Craig-Adams, Sayaka Botanic, Yasumune Morishige and Nguyễn Võ Tấn Quang. He is also a permanent member of Sydney-based improv groups withdrawe and Black Metal 3.
"[Mitch Elliott] began his set by conjuring a deep distorted drone into the room. When experimental guitarist Jasper Craig-Adams and saxophonist/flautist Hinano Fujisaki gradually joined this drone, it felt as if the three began to sink into a fable"
— Angus Sharpe, on Elliott's EP launch at Newtown's The Vanguard, 12 November 2025
